HR Agility : Driving Innovation and Resilience in the Workplace

HR agility is a driving force to foster innovation and resilience in the workforce.

Let me start by giving an example related to the family that you can relate with HR Agility. Every family has a senior person who is the head and directs the rules and regulations for the family members, bringing in discipline, welfare, and happiness to all.

I was brought up in a Newari joint family. In Nepalese-Newari culture, nuclear families are often viewed as having disputes. I’m grateful that my late grandparents didn’t share this mindset and taught us that living apart doesn’t weaken family bonds; instead, it should strengthen them.

You must be wondering how this example is relatable to HR and an organization. Well, you will relate as you read through. The seniors of the family are responsible to make the decisions, so are the HR and the company management. If the core members of any family or an organization feel reluctant to adapt to change, the connection between all the members will go weaker. Every member will feel the burden , stuck up within themselves with the fast pace changes of living style.

The Transformative Role of HR: It’s Agility and Adaptibility

In the companies, HR plays the specific role to shape the company’s welfare. With the modern equipment and technologies, with the invention of the AI, everything in the business landscape is changing so rapidly. It is not easy for businesses to adapt to such quick changes, but it’s not impossible either. Like the grandparents are the head of the family, HR somehow plays the same role in keeping up unity with the employees working together, plus adapting to all the changes of the business.

Now, let us talk about the experiences from my first workplace. It was my first corporate job and I was clueless. The company was not big and was operated just with the engagement of a few teams. Everything at the beginning seemed good as I was still figuring out the work and the team. As time passed by, I started noticing that a few of my colleagues were not happy with the working environment. I was unaware as that was my first job. They were unhappy with the management of working schedules, the lack of training for new technology, and decisions made by HR without consulting employees.

I still remember how most of the team member left the job on the spot as their voices were not being heard. Unfortunately, I had no other option rather than continuing the job to gain more experiences.

Learning From Experience : Work Environment and HR Agility

New phase , New experience ! I was ready to explore a new journey of professionalism in another company. This time, I had some idea of how a workplace should be. This time, it was a company with many employees. The company managed everything in an organized yet chaotic manner. In our weekly meetings, HR explained the new technologies and trends we had adopted and how we could work more efficiently. The first half of the meeting would be discussions about the trends that has been on and how we should cope with it. The team scheduled the required trainings on time and conducted surveys. After the first half of the meeting, the leader asked us if everything was going well within the team and if anyone needed help, advice, or suggestions. In every meeting, the team members felt heard. Even though I was the new one, they didn’t hesitate to ask on my thoughts and ideas. This approach made me realize how the company has been on top maintaining its reputation and why this company has been in this business for so long.

Thoughts that Triggered

I worked in two different companies within two years. The first company faced challenges due to supply chain issues affecting HR and employees, while the second company thrived with thousands of engaged employees. They maintained good team relationships and embraced new ideas, leading to satisfaction and motivation among their workforce.

HR Leadership and Adaptibility

Effective Human Resource professionals strengthen businesses by quickly adapting to change and fostering strong employee relationships.

I believe that, the best companies existing are the results of good HR leadership. It’s never too late for companies to hire HR professionals who can effectively balance the company with necessary changes.

Also, what I have felt is that for being good in the given field, they should be provided with the good amount of knowledge, and the required training at the initial stage of their career. Handling company’s employees and regulations isn’t that easy. People might think that it is an easy job, but it’s NOT!

Dropping off with my words, Being a good and responsible HR not only shines in the eyes of the company, but also shines in the eyes of every team members.
